Brake, transmission, exhaust and glass work is often done by specialty shops that see the same job dozens of times a week. Brake shops replace pads and rotors the same day and usually inspect for free; transmission shops rebuild or replace automatics and clutches, a multi-day job that deserves a second quote; muffler and exhaust shops weld custom pipes and replace catalytic converters, which in many states must meet emissions rules. Alignment and suspension shops fix pulling, uneven tire wear and worn shocks, and radiator shops handle overheating and cooling-system leaks. Auto glass shops replace windshields, often at your home or office, and recalibrate the driver-assistance cameras mounted behind the glass. Window tinting and car audio shops round out the group.
Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 amβ5:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Corpus Christi is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Corpus Christi follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Took my car here because they were a recommended shop by the warranty company. Had a cylinder 2 misfire, smoke at start up, coolant loss. They told me it needed a tuneup. So $400 later I get the car back and ask what about the coolant loss. I was told it was probably low when I bought it. Drove the car a couple weeks and had to put coolant in it every 200 miles. Took it back again . They had it for almost 2 weeks and when I called he told me his tech was out that week, no communication of that to me till I called. They supposedly did a pressure test on it and said it was fine. I asked if they had borescoped it and was told no. Told me to drive it and not put coolant in it and just let it get hot and bring it back and it would probably fail a pressure test. And if I had done that the warranty company would have blamed the failure on me. So I took I to my shop and had it diagnosed. Within an hour of working on it they borescoped it and found a bad block. A known problem it this model engine. All they had to do is simply borescoped it which is part of a battery of tests to diagnose this problem. They never took notes as to what my complaint was and every time I asked about the coola

Donβt get your work done here. Got my brakes, motor mounts, and wheel bearings replaced. They disconnected my wheel speed sensor and then didnβt reconnect it properly resulting in my abs and traction light coming off and on and my brakes malfunctioning. Check engine light also came on. Had a severe oil leak that they also did not disclose. Got a nail in my tire from their shop and when i asked them to fill my air they gave me attitude. Got charged over $800 just to have to take my car to a separate shop and find out that the work they did was done either incorrectly or incomplete.

Update: The owner called and he apologized and will be paying for the tow truck. ( My husbands amazing employers sent a truck and trailer to Mathis already) so he will only have to pay from Calallen. He said the head tech would be looking at the truck first thing tomorrow. I will update with more info. They had my truck for over a week. Said it was going to be done Friday the 24th. They needed a part. They were nice enough to meet my husband on a Saturday to get his truck, accept no one was there to meet us. After calling the persons cell phone he finally answered to inform us that the part was showing a code and they had to reorder the part. My husband is working 13 hours night shifts. He could have called and let us know Friday night. Fine no big deal. He said part would be in Monday. We finally get the truck Wednesday at 1:20 after being told it would be done at noon. The same guy was not there and I guess they could not give us the truck without him. We had to wait 45 minutes. Fine. Here is the kicker. My husband is driving to work. He is past Mathis and the truck breaks down. What the heck. Itβs 3:50. We had the truck for a little over two hours. He drove it

I had the best experience with AAMCO and I cannot thank them enough. I came in today worried about potential issues and they performed a Multi-Point Vehicle Check for free, just like they advertised. They were incredibly professional, thorough, and most importantlyβhonest. They gave me the peace of mind that my car is in excellent condition without trying to upsell me on unnecessary repairs. If you want a mechanic you can actually trust to give you the straight story, this is the place to go. 5/5 stars!
